SAFER HOME SURVEY – Increasing Access to Safe and Sustainable Private Rental Accommodation for Women Escaping Domestic and Family Violence
Have your say!
The Department of Communities and Justice funds the Safer Homes project to increase access to safe and sustainable private rental tenancies for women and children escaping domestic and family violence (DFV). The aim is to create collaboration between specialist support services and real estate agents, underpinned by good practice.
DVNSW is aware that many services have already formed positive relationships with real estate agents and are working in innovative ways that are resulting in good housing outcomes. However, many barriers continue to be experienced by services trying to secure housing for women escaping DFV.
This survey seeks to gain a better understanding of your experience working with women who are suitable (i.e. they qualify for Rent Choice Start Safely) for private rental accommodation.
The survey will take around 10 – 15 minutes to complete and will cover 3 main areas;
1. Your experience and your client’s experience in accessing the private rental market
2. Your feedback on rental assistance and specifically Rent Choice Start Safely
3. And your opinion about the role of property managers and landlords.
Our project relies on your feedback! We are keen to hear of great practices and to ensure that any future work is informed by your experience.
